Do you collect and recycle containers for the Container Deposit Scheme?
Or have you just been thinking about it?
Here’s one good reason to start! Thursday Girls is now an approved Donation Partner within the scheme. This means when you return your containers, you can select Thursday Girls as a recipient.
Every little bit helps for Thursday Girls, as we don’t receive any government funding to cover our operational costs.
We are reliant on philanthropic organisations, support from our amazing partners, and generous individuals who give us regular or one-off donations.
Currently, we are registered with the North and the West CDS regions - stay tuned for an update on the East. In the meantime, you could join another region and drop off outside your normal zone for next level support!
Here's how to start:
Download the App for your region (only North or West at this stage) and register as a user
In the App, set your payment type as Donation and select Thursday Girls
When you go to a refund point be sure to scan your barcode before you begin to return the bottles. Don't follow the instructions to Donate on the Reverse Vending Machines as this is not connected to your account and your donation may get allocated elsewhere.
Celebrate! Feel free to tag us on Facebook or Insta if you want to share the love.
Please share with all your friends and encourage them to choose Thursday Girls.
It will give you a good feeling and help us continue with our support
The link to the scheme can be found below. It’s as simple as downloading a the appropriate CDS App for your area and setting up your payment type to Donation before you begin.
Our appreciation goes out to all of our supporters for all of the years of connection and community at Thursday Girls. This is made possible by the many people who have donated as well as those who have volunteered their time and efforts.
We are pleased to share that the 2023
Thursday Girls Fundraiser dinner raised $19,836.
Our hearts are filled with gratitude for the continuous and generous support!

“… the group is about connecting and supporting each other. I feel that the main purpose for the group is to get women together that UNDERSTAND each other and what each individual is going through. There are only a selective amount of people who fully understand.”

Acknowledgement of Country
We acknowledge the Wurundjeri People of the Kulin Nations as the Traditional Owners of the unceded lands on which I live and work. We recognise their care of and connection to land, water and community over the past 60,000+ years. We pay respect to their long and proud tradition of story-telling, and to their Elders, who always have, and always will, care for Country, culture and community, today and for future generations.
